I’m Justin Horsch; I started at Innovate in June of 2021. I aim to provide financial planning to millennials and enable them to align their goals and values with their use of all their resources (time, energy, money.) Rather than only working with clients on an assets under management (AUM) basis, I can also work with young professionals and entrepreneurs through a monthly subscription model.
Before my career in the financial services industry, I went to school as a first-generation college student. I attended Central Lakes College in Brainerd, MN, and then transferred to The University of Northwestern – St. Paul. I played football for five years between the two schools; I graduated in 2014 with a BS in Kinesiology – Health and Fitness. I worked in many different retail settings and never planned to work in the financial services industry or become a financial planner. Yet, sometimes these things have a way of working themselves out. I have been in this industry since 2016; I started by helping millennials buy home and auto insurance. Through that position, I realized I had a passion for helping people understand a seemingly complex concept and distilling it to something elegantly simple. During that job in home and auto insurance, I got married in 2017, my wife and I sat down with a financial advisor for the first time. We became clients of each other; he was the one who encouraged me to consider being a financial advisor because of the giftings I have in communicating a complex idea effectively and understandable.
On a personal note, I am from the Twin Cities, but the St. Paul side. As I mentioned earlier, I married Christa in August of 2017; we bought our first house in Robbinsdale. At the time of writing this, we have one child born, Tate, in June of 2020 and one on the way due Dec 2021. We are a family that loves sports, both watching and playing, being outside, being around people, and self-proclaimed foodies.
